NMAA Foundation Scholarship Opportunities

NMAA Scholarships

In 2017-2018, the New Mexico Activities Association Foundation will award 16 scholarships totaling $22,000 to seniors graduating from NMAA member schools.  Scholarships will be awarded to individuals in six different categories which are listed below:

 

1)         Compete with Class, presented by the NM National Guard (sportsmanship; 4 @ $1,500 each)

2)         Extraordinary Participation (excellence in academics, athletics, and activities; 2 @ $2,500 each)

3)         Dan & Lucille / Gray Gladiator Athletics, presented by Subway (excellence in academics and athletics; 2 @ $1,000 each)

4)         Activities, presented by Subway (excellence in academics and activities; 2 @ $1,000 each)

5)         Mario Martinez Memorial (excellence in academics & multiple athletics programs from Class A-3A schools; 2 @ $1,500 each)

6)         El Richards / Francis Walsh Spirit, presented by Varsity Spirit (excellence in academics & Cheer/Dance; 2 @ $1,000 each)

 

There will also be two “at-large” selections for the Coach Dick Shelley St. Michael’s High School Basketball and Ralph Ortiz BPOE Elks Club of Santa Fe Scholarships.  There is no formal application for these two at-large scholarships as the recipients will be chosen from the pool of individuals that apply for the categories listed above. 

 

The NMAA Foundation has recognized individuals from over 80 different NMAA member high schools over the last ten years.  In order to honor students from all areas of New Mexico, we need your help in passing on application information to your high school administrators/counselors so that they can then inform your seniors of these scholarship opportunities.  The deadline for each scholarship application is February 1st, 2018.   Each application packet must now be submitted online via the following webpage:
